🧾 What to Do
Notify Us Immediately
As soon as you’re aware of a claim – or even a potential one – contact FinSef without delay. Timely notification is critical. Waiting too long may affect your eligibility for a full payout.
- For accidents or theft: Report the incident to the police and get a case/reference number.
- For fire, flooding, or emergencies: Notify emergency services and request a formal report.

📸 Take Photos/Videos
Document the incident clearly. Use your phone or camera to capture:
- The damage or loss from multiple angles
- All affected items, vehicles, or property
- The wider accident scene, if relevant
Having visual evidence greatly supports the claims assessment process.

🛠️ Prevent Further Loss
Take any reasonable steps to stop the situation from getting worse. This can include:
- Covering broken windows or exposed areas after storm damage
- Shutting off water or electricity to avoid further hazards
Acting quickly shows responsibility and helps preserve the validity of your policy.

⏰ Report Potential Claims Promptly
Even if no formal complaint has been made, notify FinSef as soon as you suspect a claim may arise.
- Incidents where another party might hold you liable (e.g., injury on your property)
- Alleged service errors or disputes that could escalate
Don’t wait. Early reporting protects you and ensures we can act fast to support and defend your case.

🚫 What Not to Do
Do Not Authorize Repairs or Replacements Without Approval
Repairs or replacements done without written consent from your insurer may not be covered.
Wait for official instructions before making any changes – no matter how urgent it feels.

🚫 Do Not Admit Liability
If someone else is making a claim against you:
- Do not accept blame, apologize, or offer compensation.
- Do not sign any documents or agree to pay damages.
Why? Doing so may compromise your legal position and your insurance cover.
Let FinSef and your insurer handle all third-party communications.
